What do you think education will look like in five or ten years? Coming up with an answer to that and many other questions is exactly what the newly formed Beeville ISD Strategic Planning Committee is setting out to accomplish. The committee, the first of its kind in district history, held its primary meeting on Saturday, October 22nd. The committee consisted of parents, students, community members, teachers, administrators, and board members. Dr. Rick Alvarado, Executive Director of ESC Region 2 in Corpus Christi, facilitated the meeting.
“Today, the Beeville ISD stands poised for greatness” explained Superintendent Dr. Marc A. Puig. “On the strength of our Board’s commitment to transforming the district, we must challenge ourselves to succeed beyond what we ever thought possible.”
Any school district with a vision to succeed in the best educational interests of their students must have a plan to get there. The strategic plan will help Beeville ISD define what it intends to achieve when it comes to student success objectives and organizational goals. A combination of good planning and communication will ensure that all stakeholders including parents, teachers, administrators, principals, board members and community are all striving for the same goals.
The Beeville ISD Strategic Planning Committee will meet again on October 29th, and once again on December 3rd. The meetings, which are all day affairs, incorporate collaborative exercises and group decision making to examine the core values and vision for the school district. Once the committee has completed its mission, a Strategic Plan will be presented to the Board of Trustees for final approval.
