Beeville, Texas – CTE Law Enforcement and Public Safety students from A.C. Jones High School in Beeville are heading to a state finals competition after they recently placed first in a SWAT and building search team competition at Coastal Bend College.
Sophomore Antonio “Tony” Gamez told KIII-TV News he’s confident they’ll win the state compeition.
"We are going to absolutely win state, 100 percent," Gamez said. "We have put in a whole lot of work, we have an amazing team, with an amazing teacher and amazing support through the entire city of Beeville and we're going to go out there and do what we're trained to do."
The team of eight will compete in different categories including SWAT searches and felony traffic stops.
The team will have two months to hone their skills even further before finals March 25 - 28.
