Mr. Vasquez is a dedicated and very involved member of the Board of Trustees. He believes in our students in and out of the classroom. Mr. Vasquez is committed to our district, and you can often find him at any of our Trojan athletic events, rain or shine. He devotes his time to the Board of Trustees because he believes that we should give back to our community in areas in which we can make a difference. He grew up in the nearby town of Pettus and graduated from high school there. He has two sons who graduated from A.C. Jones in Beeville. Steven, who is now a Banker with Texas Champion Bank in Kenedy, and Eric, who is currently employed with Edna Independent School District as a teacher and Head Baseball Coach. Mr. Vasquez is also involved in the Rotary Club of Beeville and the Main Street Advisory
Committee.

Mrs. Arthur is a dedicated and committed member of the Board oTrustees in a sincere effort to improve the education of our children and to ultimately make a difference in their lives. As a Physician’s Assistant, she knows how valuable a solid academic foundation can be for students to meet their goals and achieve their dreams. After graduating from Edinburg High School, she moved on to receive her Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies at University of Texas Health Science Center of Galveston. Her husband, Andrew, is a Beeville native and a graduate of A.C. Jones High School. When not devoting her time to her three wonderful children, she works for Beeville Youth in Action and volunteers for Beeville Ladies Night Out.

Mr. Gamez is committed to providing fresh ideas and opportunities to help all BISD students succeed both in and out of the classroom. He hopes to identify and build on our district’s strengths to help make our district the best it can be. Mr. Gamez is a graduate from Benavides High School and Coastal Bend College. He is now retired after a successful 40-year career in the oil and gas industry with Valero Energy Corporation and Marathon Oil Company. In the past, he has volunteered for Little League, Beeville Youth Soccer, Boys and Girls Club, and United Way. Mr. Gamez and his wife Debbie love Beeville and raised three successful BISD graduates. He looks forward to seeing his seven grandchildren carry on the proud Trojan legacy.

Mr. Salazar possesses a sincere commitment and dedication to the work of the Board of Trustees that stems from his deep belief in children as the future of our community as well as our world. He is a Beeville native and was born and raised here. As a graduate from A.C. Jones High School, Mr. Salazar is a product of BISD and wishes to continue to improve on a district wide commitment to excellence in every program our district offers. He hopes to contribute to assisting our young people with obtaining the best education possible so they may experience a high degree of success in all of their endeavors. As a self-employed business owner, he is committed to being part of the solution for any issues facing our school district. He and his wife Linda, also a committed educator, have four children, Lucas, Nathan, Andrew and Layla.

Mr. Martinez is the Director of Adult Literacy and believes strongly in the ability of our students in this community. As a product of the BISD school system, Mr. Martinez is proud to give of his time and talents to help our students, their families, and our educators do the very best possible job to create an academic experience that will help them be bold and innovative leaders throughout their lives. He volunteers his time to improving adult literacy in the community as well. We welcome him to the Board of Trustees and look forward to a productive term along with his wife, Gloria, his daughters, Leti and Mari and his son, Carlos!

Mrs. Munoz is a highly involved member of our community with a commitment to making a difference in shaping the future of our children. As a graduate of A.C. Jones High School, she is a successful product of BISD and attended Coastal Bend College. Her hope is to utilize her time as a member of the Board to be part of life changing results that will lead to the ultimate success of all of our young people. She devotes her time to the Rotary Club, is the Rotary Assistant Governor for District 5840, is involved in the Beeville Economic Improvement Corp, and supports other endeavors for the betterment of our community through her time with Beeville Ladies Night Out and the Rosetta and Coastal Bend Foundation. Married to her husband Mario for 35 years, they have raised two successful Beeville graduates, their son Anthony and their daughter Monique. The entire family graduated from Coastal Bend College, so it is no secret how highly she values education. As a recent retiree, Mrs. Munoz now focuses on educating the future through her three grandchildren, Jacob, Lucas, and Lily Ann.

Sandra Martinez is a devoted family member and proud pet parent, cherishing the moments spent with her loved ones and fur babies. Her passion for education drives her commitment to serving on the board, where she strives to be a voice for all students and teachers. Ms. Martinez believes in the power of making a difference, once sharing with a superintendent, "I just want to be able to make a difference for at least one child." This heartfelt mission continues to inspire her as she dedicates herself to positively impacting the lives of students.

The Beeville Independent School District’s Board of Trustees is locally elected and locally connected. The seven board members serve as multi-member district representatives for three-year terms without salary. The BISD Board of Trustees’ responsibility is to make crucial decisions that align with the District’s Strategic Action & Engagement Plan.
The school board functions openly and seeks the involvement and contributions of the public, students, and staff.
The Board of Education conducts business in accordance with the state constitution and the standards set by the state. A policy-making body, the Board delegates the day-to-day administration of the schools to the Superintendent and the professional staff. Your communication, as a school community, is extremely important to us and we welcome your feedback.
The Beeville Independent School Board meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings are open to the public, and held on the second floor of the Central Administration Office located at:
