Why BISD?

Beeville ISD is focused on providing the best opportunities and tools for our students and teachers with the goal of graduating bold innovative leaders who are ready to embrace the world with confidence.

To do this work, we must have clarity in our direction. This clarity comes from discussion, evaluation, revisiting our goals and strategic plan, and continuous planning, so that we can adjust our path, recalibrate our roadmap, to reach our desired destination for each and every one of our students.

We Believe

  • Students have unlimited potential and access to a variety of supports for academic, as well as social/emotional needs, so that they may take ownership of their actions in a way that ensures educational success.
  • Parents and Families are true partners who are welcomed, valued and engaged in a way that supports our staff and students.
  • Faculty and Staff are passionate educators and life-long learners who lead with authenticity, grace and humility to support our students in both the classroom and activities.
  • Campus Leaders are active listeners and communicators who hold themselves and others to high expectations in a way that fosters a positive learning environment.
  • The Superintendent and Central Office staff are servant leaders who exhibit professionalism and establish systems that support equity and fairness for students and staff.
  • Board members are active, visible and supportive in the community and school events in a way that clearly demonstrates a desire for fiscal responsibility and student success.

We Have Community.
Beeville ISD has a strong tradition of community involvement, and attendance at district events—ranging from athletic competitions and fine arts performances to academic showcases and board meetings—is consistently enthusiastic. The district benefits from a close-knit community where families, alumni, and local organizations actively support student activities and school initiatives.

1. A.C. Jones High School’s Early College Program
Beeville ISD partners with Coastal Bend College to offer Early College High School opportunities, allowing students to earn college credits and even associate degrees while still in high school. This significantly reduces college costs for families and gives students a head start on higher education.

2. Beeville ISD’s CTE Programs with Industry Certifications
Career and Technical Education (CTE) offerings are robust, with pathways in areas such as health science, welding, agriculture, business, and culinary arts. Many of these programs lead to industry-recognized certifications, giving students a competitive edge in the workforce immediately after graduation.

3. The Joe Barnhart Foundation Partnership
This unique local foundation provides generous scholarships and support for Beeville students pursuing higher education. The longstanding relationship between BISD and the Joe Barnhart Foundation is something not commonly found in other districts and has a meaningful impact on college access.

4. Fine Arts Excellence
Despite being a mid-sized district, Beeville ISD places a strong emphasis on fine arts. From a celebrated Mighty Trojan Band to award-winning art, theater, and choir programs, students have access to well-supported creative outlets that rival much larger districts.

5. Strong Community Ties
Beeville ISD benefits from deep-rooted community support. Local businesses, civic organizations, and alumni frequently collaborate with the district to enhance student experiences, fund programs, and celebrate achievements.

6. Customized Student Support Services
The district focuses on whole-child education, offering programs that support students’ mental, emotional, and social well-being, including counseling services, character education, and leadership development initiatives.

We Have History.
Our district’s first schoolhouse in Beeville was built in 1859, a modest log structure that marked the beginning of organized public education in the area. Over time, as the community grew, the school system evolved into what is now Beeville Independent School District.

We Have Success.
As of the 2023–2024 school year, Beeville Independent School District (BISD) achieved a four-year graduation rate of 94.5%, surpassing the Texas statewide average of 90.3%.
