Beeville ISD is Accepting Nominations for Placement in the Gifted and Talented Program

Current students enrolled in Grades 1-11 are eligible for screening and possible placement in the Beeville ISD Gifted and Talented program for the 2025-2026 school year. 

A Gifted and Talented student is a child or youth who performs at or shows the potential for performing at a remarkably high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or enviornment and who

• exhibits high-performance capability in an intellectual, creative or artistic area;
• possesses an unusual capacity for leadership; or
• excels in a specific academic field (Texas Education Code §29.121)

Eligible students may be nominated by administrators, teachers, parents, guardians, themselves, or by any other interested person(s). Nomination forms can be found in the front office of each school or you can complete the nomination form online. Nominations will be accepted from September 29 – October 3.

• Screenings for students in Grades 1-11 will begin in October 2025.

• Parents/Guardians will be notified of the results no later than March 1, 2026.

All kindergarten students will be screened beginning in January 2026 and parents will be contacted if they are selected for additional testing. Kindergarten students do not require a referral. If you have any questions, please contact Margaret Oelschlegel at moelschlegel@beevilleisd.net.
