Dear Beeville ISD Families, Staff, and Community Members,
It is with great honor that we proudly share some exciting news with our community. Beeville Independent School District has been awarded the 2025 TASB Risk Management Fund Excellence Award, a statewide recognition honoring districts that demonstrate exceptional commitment to safety, preparedness, and risk management.
This award recognizes the hard work behind our Community-Wide Emergency Drill Simulations and Reunification Planning initiative; an effort rooted in one simple priority: the safety of our students and staff. In response to growing concerns about school safety nationwide, Beeville ISD has taken proactive steps to go beyond basic compliance and build a culture of preparedness through realistic training, strong partnerships, and clear communication.
Over the past several years, our district has coordinated full scale emergency drill simulations involving a wide range of partners, including local and regional law enforcement agencies, fire departments, EMS, hospital personnel, medical teams, our School Police Department, the City of Beeville, and the County Emergency Management Department. These drills allow us to test real-world scenarios, strengthen coordination, and identify opportunities for improvement before a real emergency ever occurs.
A critical part of this work has been the development of a district-wide student reunification plan, ensuring that in the event of an emergency, families can be reunited with their children in a safe, organized, and efficient manner. This includes designated reunification sites, clearly defined staff roles, secure identification procedures, and reliable communication protocols.
We are honored that the Texas Association of School Boards Risk Management Fund recognized Beeville ISD for this initiative and for our continued commitment to preparedness, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This recognition belongs to our entire community: our students, staff, parents, first responders, and local partners, who work together to keep our schools safe.
Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your shared commitment to the safety and well-being of our Beeville ISD family.
With gratitude,
